Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 Coffee Maker Review

A few weeks ago I realized I was sick of my coffee maker. It frequently broke down, never heated the water hot enough, and was overall a huge pain to operate. It was also a $50 machine.
So I had had it with cheap coffee machines, but which one was I going to replace it with.
Since I had heard great things about the Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker, I figured I would check that one out first. After reading a bunch of reviews, I realized this was the best machine to buy. The rest of this article will discuss why I chose the Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker.
Construction of the Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741
The first thing that drew me to the Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 was its design. This thing was made out of stainless and was built to last. I also liked it sleek design – it worked well with the other appliances in my kitchen.
The only drawback in the machine from the design side of things was in the caraffe. For some reason Technivorm decided not to include a lip on the stainless steel caraffe. As a result, you had to be very carefull when pouring coffee to ensure you didn’t it.
But other than that minor quibble, this machine was built like a tank!

And now we get to the brewing stage, which is the primary reason why I bought this machine!
First of all, this machine heats up the water to 200 degrees, which is exactly how hat you need the water to extract maximum flavor from the coffee.
For those unaccustomed to premium coffee makers, you should know that making coffee on the Technivorm Moccamaster is not simply done with the push of a button. Instead, you have to adjust the filter settings to ensure a proper seeping process. While this may come as an inconvenience to some, this type of control is the science behind brewing proper cups of coffee.
Conclusion
The Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 is a great coffee maker for people that take coffee seriously. It will produce amazing coffee every time and will sure to work for years to come. Although it features a considerably higher price tag than some machines, this higher pricer is more than made up for in the coffee it generates.
